I Believe: The Halloween Edition
Lawd, it’s been a long month. Sure, wrapped within the past 30 days has been a spectacular trip to Miami, Nikki’s birthday, more bloggers retiring (Diggs), on hiatus (Fave) and moving (Singing and Golden), the rise of the football Giants and South Side ChiSox and the demise of the punchless Jets and emotionless Yankees.
But it’s still only the 31st — Halloween — and before we get to the loads of theme parties, the continuous bags of candy and the inevitable dodging of rotten eggs (wait, that’s probably only here in New York … lol), IMWM brings you I Believe: The Halloween Edition.
I believe that it is historic (first black woman), appropriate (for what she’s meant to history) and necessary (America paying their respect) for Rosa Parks to lie in honor inside the Capitol rotunda.
I believe more should’ve been said about the death of entertainer Nipsey Russell (may he rest in peace), whose rusty crying instantly made me a fan of The Wiz.
I believe that fall never happened and that we went straight from summer to winter.
I believe that hurricane season probably won’t end until sometime in February.
I believe that BET’s Ultimate Hustler is the worst show on television.
I believe that (My Name is) Earl and (Everybody Hates) Chris should both be household names after only a few episodes.
I believe that Run’s House is — right now, today — my favorite show on television.
I believe that if his daughter Angela is legal, she could get it until she gets enough. LOL
I believe that the live debate on The West Wing scheduled for this coming Sunday between Alan Alda’s character and Jimmy Smits‘ character will be far better than anything we saw a year ago.
I believe that Cheney’s aide should’ve been indicted if for no other reason than his grown-up nickname was “Scooter.”
I believe I get misty each time my co-worker breaks down crying while speaking of her younger sister, who’s stationed in Iraq.
I believe it was cruel of Apple to come out with the Video iPod so soon after coming out with the Nano.
I believe the New York Knicks will be at least five wins better just because Larry Brown is their head coach.
I believe Stephon Marbury will be an All-Star this season.
I believe I will be watching the Phil Jackson - Kobe Bryant relationship very closely to see how long it lasts.
I believe that it was unfair to allow the San Antonio Spurs to get even better during the off-season.
I believe that the Miami Heat are in trouble with the additions they made during the summer.
I believe that one bad blogger doesn’t spoil the whole blog bunch.
I believe in Butta’s Whensdays and The Crunktastical One’s Freshest Week Ever.
I believe in the way O deals with The Boys.
I believe Yanni’s Block gets better every week!
I believe I’m about to go pack and set my TiVo for the week.
I believe I’m done.
Stay positive, people. Happy Halloween!

I completely agree with you on Rosa, Nipsey, and passing on the 1st season of A Different World.
Happy Halloween!

I believe that Phil will get tired of Kobe’s non-team player ass very quickly. And isn’t Run’s House a surprisingly good reality series.

this hurricane situation is getting out of hand. I think it has something to do with global warming. When I was small, there was a little rhyme that helps you understand hurricane season:
June–too soon
July–stand by
August–prepare we must
September–remember
October–All over
But it’s still going on.

I believe that you just made me smile. Thanks for the love, man! Safe travels to Hotlanta.

My hope, with Rosa resting in state, is that people from all over the country make the journey to pay respects.

Whoo HOO! Go Chicago! lol
Run’s House is THE reality show. Rev. Run & his wife are so perfect for each other, it’s a joy to watch.

Run’s House, Chris, and Earl are my FAVORITE SHOWS…EVER!! Run lives about 20mins from me - Maybe I can talk him into adopting another daughter. I’m sayin’, he needs another girl to even the family out!
And ummmm… The video iPod is the cat’s pajamas! I’m afraid to take it oustide though - it’s too pretty, and the cases don’t come out for a week or two.

I believe I love these Will posts. I also believe you and Beloved have been slacking in your Desperate housewives update duties.

I believe that not having cable anymore has left me terribly out of touch! I don’t know any of the current shows about which you write. And thanks for the shout, by the way. Oh, and I believe the real issue with my Lakers ain’t Kobe/Phill II, it’s the lack of depth and big bodies. But I also believe Kwame is gonna be killin’ folks this year. Write it down. That’s my word.
