It Doesn’t Add Up …
Ten rows equals five games, according to the National Basketball Association.
Or more specifically, ten rows, one defense, one possible grab, an alleged scratch and zero punches equal five games. And a whole lot of money.
Those are the figures that the NBA front offices came up with on Thursday, penalizing a man who went to defend his wife, his life partner, his best friend. What they came up with to prove a point, to teach a lesson … to show kids that not even checking on your loved ones matters when it comes to their rules.
Yup, the commissioner of my second favorite sport thought it necessary to sit down the Knicks’ Antonio Davis for standing up for his wife during Wednesday’s game at the United Center in Chicago.
Five games, $630,000, no punches, no riots. I’ve been doing the math. And from where I sit, it just doesn’t add up.
