In A Sentimental Mood

nullIt took years for it to happen to me. But I’m finally there. Euphoric. Giddy, even. She’s the light of my life, this amazing being. I really don’t know where she was, but you just don’t understand how grateful I am that she’s made herself known. Let herself be seen.

We’re so in sync. Kindred spirits. Soul mates. Yup, with her by my side, no one can come against me. Unbreakable like a broke ass Alicia Keys song. I could go on and on about how I feel about this wonderful addition to my life, this smart, beautiful, charismatic enigma that has forced me, ME! Will Dawson, to settle down.

Yup, my people … your boy is in love.

Love. For real. It’s like a Nikki-got-engaged-late-last-year-and-is-planning-her-wedding type of love. A Beloved-finding-her-Peace-and-shutting-down-her-blog-because-her-steps-are-now-ordered-type of love. A Glory-just-as-much-as-she-loves-spoken-word-type of love. A deep type. A ‘feel it all in your bones’ like a Tony Toni Tone lyric from “Feels Good” type of love. A Tony Terry ‘when I’m with you’ type of love.

Yup, it’s that deep. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I heard about her through a friend, got her address, looked her up. When I first saw her, it was love at first sight. I felt it. I know she felt it, too. All I could do is stare. She had to be mine. And you know that’s saying a lot, because as ambivalent as I usually am, I NEVER feel that way.

And then there she was.

I couldn’t believe my good fortune. I still can’t. I remember the first time we hung out. We went to Starbucks. Yes, I know that Starbucks is da man and we shouldn’t have been seen chilling there, but, I dunno … there was something about that place. It strengthened our connection on some ole Natalie Cole “Inseparable” type stuff.

She’s definitely put me in a sentimental mood. I’m gushing over here. Couldn’t wait to share the news of my love. I fell hard and fast. And it feels good to get it out there. I needed this release, this space to tell the world how I feel. Did I tell you that she loves the way I write?!?!? And she’s so damn good, she even remembers almost every word. I love her. And I can see us being together for a really long time.

What? You want a description? Well, I don’t want to make others jealous, so what I will say is that her body is hot. Nice and bodacious up top, and with a lower half that I will spend ample time tapping. hehehe Already, she’s shown a penchant for sitting in my lap. And I don’t mind that one single bit. She’s a frisky one.

I think I’ve rambled on enough about her. I’m sure that this is just a honeymoon phase and we’re both blinded by the instant connection. I’m positive we’ll have our issues. But you know what, I’m also positive that we’ll work them out. And take it one day at a time. As long as she keeps in mind the things that I say, I’ll make sure and take good care of her.

She’s my joy. My one and only. I can see us staying in a lot, watching movies, playing games. But we’ll also venture out as often as possible, go to all the hot spots around town. This chick is connected, y’all. And it’s so effortless the way she can make things happen. Whenever I want to buy something, I go to her. Any type of info, she’s the one. Mannnnnnnn, Maxwell wrote “Fortunate” with me and my love in mind. I’m convinced of that.

I can’t even do her enough justice. I feel weak when even writing this. She’s the best!

So without being selfish any longer, it’s time to show my new love off for the world. I just want everyone to be happy for me. Show us some love. Is that possible? Can we live?!?!!? I hope so. Because from the first day she came into my life, she’s my everything. Here she is.
null

Isn’t she lovely? Yeah, even Stevie can see it.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go back and push play on my Nano, letting Ellington and Coltrane fill the air. Sentimental, indeed.

Peace.

  15. I knew it was the courtship between you and the new toy. You are too crazee! But you know I feel ya. If it weren’t for mine, I wouldn’t be involved in my first lesbian affair. She’s got it all–huge drive, a perfect memory, well-configured body. She’s all I could have asked for and more. *Tapping my new love muffin and listening to her hard drive purr.* ROTFLMAO

  16. Wow Will, Wow. She’s a hottie, what’s the specs?
My newest love is a powerbook, the courtship was long, I wasn’t sure I could deal with that much change. But you just never know until you touck the keys.
